To create this EveryDay Detox tea, Traditional Medicinals used a traditional European herbal formula that assists beautify the skin, break down fats, and promote flushing of the kidneys. Herbalists combine burdock to aid the skin, dandelion to aid the liver, nettles to assist the kidneys, and cleavers to assist the kidneys and the lymph. This light and bright lemon detox tea tastes as good as it feels.

Medicinal Ingredients

Each tea bag (1.5g) contains:

 

Organic burdock root (Arctium lappa) 
450 mg

Organic stinging nettle leaf (Urtica dioica) 
450 mg

Organic cleavers herb (Galium aparine) 
225 mg

Organic cleavers herb (Galium aparine) 
225 mg

Organic dandelion root (Taraxacum officinale) 
225 mg

 

Non-Medicinal Ingredients

Organic lemon myrtle leaf (Backhousia citriodora).

Suggested Use

Pour 240 mLfreshly boiled water over 2 tea bags and steep, covered, for 10-15 minutes. Gently squeeze the tea bags to release the remaining extract.

For prolonged use, consult a healthcare practitioner.

Cautions

Consult a healthcare practitioner before taking if you have diabetes. There is limited evidence from preclinical studies that burdock may have hypoglycemic activity. Use by adults with renal failure and/or diabetes, and/or Cardio Health failure should be avoided because of possible complications due to hyperkalemia. Consult a healthcare practitioner if symptoms persist or worsen.

Contraindications

Do not use if you are allergic to plants of the Asteraceae/Compositae/Daisy family, such as burdock or dandelion, or if you are allergic to stinging nettle. If hypersensitivity or allergic reactions occur, discontinue use. Do not use if you have gall bladder disorder, or obstruction of the biliary tract, acute gallbladder inflammation, or in the case of active peptic ulcer. Discontinue use if you develop symptoms of liver trouble. Do not use if you have liver disorders, and/or bowel obstruction. Do not use if pregnant or breastfeeding.

Known Adverse Reactions

In sensitive individuals, mild gastrointestinal upset (nausea, vomiting and diarrhea) or allergic reactions (itching, exanthema, hives) may occur from use of stinging nettle. The frequency is not known. Discomfort due to gastric hyperacidity may occur after taking herbs that contain bitter substances like dandelion.
