Original Tea

SD's Tea is a blend of fruit, spices and herbal ingredients formulated to aid weight loss by stimulating regular bowel movements. For over a quarter century in Canada SD's Tea has been a safe and trusted ally to Assist people with occasional bouts of constipation.

A traditional Chinese formula this unique tea blend relies upon the stimulating effects of Senna leaf. Senna belongs to a large genus of flowering plants found throughout the tropics. Cassia angustifolio (Indian or Tinnevelly senna) in leaf and extract form are used to deliver a consistent and reliable laxative effect. The active components in senna extracts are anthraquinone derivatives and their glucosides, referred to as senna glycosides or sennosides. They are believed to irritate the wall of the colon to promote peristalsis and evacuation.

Senna may also enhance intestinal fluid accumulation and increase the moisture content of stool by inhibiting electrolyte and water reabsorption from the colon. The typical dose is 15 to 30 mg of sennosides twice a day, but is recommended for short term use only (less than one week).

Side effects may include abdominal cramps and electrolyte imbalance.

SD's Tea is prepared according to a special Chinese formula, and it contains choice of herbs and leaves.

How To Use

Pour one cup (250ml) to two cups of boiling water over one tea bag in a container and cover. Let steep for 2 minutes or longer if stronger infusion is desired. Press tea bag lightly and remove. Drink one cup after dinner.
