Uses

The Deglett date is super sweet, with a texture that's drier and chewier than the Medjool date. It's a healthy and nutritious snack, perfect for a post-workout bite or curbing sugar cravings. It can also be used as a replacement sweetener in smoothies, and other sweet dishes. Its texture makes it the perfect ingredient for baking, especially to make date squares!

Preservation

Because of higher summer temperatures, it is recommended you keep your dried fruit in the fridge to avoid speeding up the fermentation process.

Be careful of fermentation! Dates contain sugar which means they need to be conserved in a cold and dry cupboard, away from humidity. You can also put them in your fridge. If stored properly, dates can be kept for up to 8 months.
