Methylcobalamin Liquid B12 delivers 1,000 mcg of highly bioavailable vitamin B12 in a delicious, natural cherry-flavored liquid. Vitamin B12 is crucial for nutrient metabolism, serving as a cofactor for methylmalonyl-CoA mutase enzymes, which convert odd-chain fatty acids and branched-chain amino acids into succinyl-CoA, a common citric acid cycle intermediate. It also acts as a methyl donor in the conversion of homocysteine to methionine. 

While cyanocobalamin is a common form of B12 in supplements, studies suggest that methylcobalamin, a coenzyme form, may be better utilized and retained in the body due to its methyl structure. Certain groups, such as the elderly, immunocompromised individuals, users of proton-pump inhibitors, and strict vegetarians, are at risk for B12 deficiency due to low dietary intake or impaired absorption, as they may struggle to produce intrinsic factor, a protein needed for B12 absorption in the intestines.
