LibertyCup Menstrual Cup 1 is a menstrual cup made of silicon, reusable and easy to use for light to medium flow.

The Liberty Cup is worn inside the vagina and collects menstrual blood when a girl has her period. The cup can be worn for up to 12 hours at one time.  Once full, just empty the cup and re-insert.  At the end of each period clean your cup by boiling it in a pot of water for  3-5 minutes.

Liberty Cups are made out of medical-grade silicone and are reusable.  They sit inside the vagina and collect menstrual blood rather than absorbing it.  This means that cups are not linked to toxic shock syndrome like tampons are.

It produces minimal waste and is reusable for 10+ years.  By contrast, on average a woman uses 11,000 tampons/pads in their lifetime.  

You can also wear the Liberty Cup for up to 12 hours at a time.  This means if there is poor access to toilets, privacy or clean water during the day, the cup has big advantages over other products. Women lose 30-40ml (on average) of blood each period. Cups are able to hold more than 15ml of fluid compared to one tampon which can hold around 5ml of blood and a pad which can hold 5-10mls maximum. That means fewer changes, less often. Buying a Liberty Cup is a one-off cost which means you no longer have to spend each month as well so it's just a great idea all round!
