N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine (NAC) is a derivative of the dietary amino acid l-cysteine. NAC scavenges free radicals and reduces oxidative stress caused by heavy metals, supporting antioxidant defense. It is also a precursor to the antioxidant glutathione, and supplemental NAC increases tissue levels of glutathione. Animal studies suggest that NAC may help moderate the effects of mercury and cadmium accumulation in the kidneys and liver, possibly by promoting healthy glutathione levels or protecting tissues from peroxidation caused by heavy metals. NAC also has a high affinity for lung tissue, supporting it through antioxidant action.

Provides 600 mg of NAC per day.

Recommended Dose

Adults: Take 1 capsule 2-3 times daily with meals, or as directed by a healthcare practitioner. Consult a healthcare practitioner for use beyond 2 months.
