An all-purpose, rosy pink bean with mild, sweet flavor and creamy texture. Pinto beans are the most popular American bean. Spotted when dry, pintos turn a pale rose when cooked. The word pinto in Spanish means painted. Pinto and black turtle beans are the main Mexican food beans and make good salsa, burritos, tostadas, tacos, tamale pies, soups, and salads. Pintos are used in the classic Italian soup, Pasta Fagioli. No salt added. Packed in BPA, BPS, and phthalate free can linings since the 90s.
