All-purpose, rosy, pink bean with mildly sweet, appealing taste and creamy texture. Pinto beans are the most popular bean in America. Spotted when dry, pintos turn a pale rose color when cooked. The word pinto in Spanish means painted. Pinto and black turtle beans are the mainstays in Mexican food and pretty much interchangeable in recipes. They make great soup and stew. Pintos are featured in the Italian pasta and bean soup, Pasta Fagioli. No salt added. Packed in BPA, BPS, and phthalate free cans since the 1990s.
